How do I choose the right daycare/school for my child?
Here are my 5 tips:
Follow your instinct and go with your intuition. Don't let the setting, colors, and information handed to you blur the suitability of the place for your child. Often the best decision comes in first thing in the morning after your visit the day before.
Make sure the center is licensed and check its quality reviews. Talk to parents from that school/daycare to see if they feel that their family's and child's needs are met.
Join an open day and focus on teacher child interactions. Does it align with what you feel is best for your child? Is there a curriculum or a program for planned activities displayed? If not; ask to see it.
Look at the play and educational zones. Are there enough books? Are the books ripped and old or maintained and organized? Are the puzzles complete or missing pieces? Do they play areas look inviting and fun to use or not? Is it clean?
Location: is the building in a green calm area or on a busy highway? Is there phone or electric poles in the close vicinity of the building? Does the building and its playground meet your safety standards?
